Happy New Year!

I wish everybody a very happy New Year and may all your dreams come true!

Fabric stash update.

I just could not pass on these gorgeous batiks from the local fabric store! They had a good sale and in general it is a store I simply love.
Good thing it is located far from my house.
Otherwise I would spend all my money there.
Again, blue and deep fuchsia combination - make me warm and happy.
The pastel fat quarters are for upcoming baby quilt projects.
(I never have enough of babyquilts!)

I came to the conclusion that the color of blue makes me happy.

Have a very happy New Year!

Great news!

I have such a great news - my Dad is coming from Moscow to visit in February!!
It makes my Christmas happier!

Having a good time..

Gift wrapping - check!
Grocery shopping for the Chrsitmas dinner - check!
Clean the studio - check!
This week I took a break from my Etsy shop and started on fun stuff, which is always making art.
I also wanted to re-use the big sheets of Arches paper
that are left from my daughter's architectural assignments.
There are technical drawings on one side.
So I just cut them in small pieces and used the other side for painting.

Hope you are having a good week so far and are taking it easy!

Handmade Christmas cards

This year I have decided to make some greeting cards myself. It is a lot of fun, that's for sure!
I already sent the first one to my Moscow friend, one can never go wrong with birds, right?

Happy birthday!

Who is this grumpy baby?
Who would not be grumpy wearing an outfit like that and being forced to smile to the camera during New Year / Christmas party in the kindergarten in Ukraine back in the.. mmm.. early 90's??
Still, adorable and the best in the world - my daughter!

Happy birthday!!

Giveaway from Paisley Farm

My first giveaway for my growing group of super cool blogger friends!
I am giving away this pencil/brush roll (without art supplies) for somebody who leaves a comment here between today and 12-16-12 which is coming Sunday. This pencil roll is a holder for your sketching tools to sketch plain-air or just to keep your pencils and brushes organized.
Inside fabric is butterflies on blue background and the outside is beautiful linen.
I will announce a winner on Sunday night.
Good luck and have a nice week!

Not so winter yet.

In my blogroll I read a lot that people have first snow already, not to mention the early winter in Moscow that my Dad is enjoying now.
The weather in Las Vegas is the best now days, we just now have the trees turning colors..
Best time.

My next sketchbook is over, it is full of different pieces of life around and some scribbling.
